The Silver Brumby

The Silver Brumby Animated Series is an animated children's television series produced by Media World and based on the book "The Silver Brumby" by Elyne Mitchell.

THE STORY

The Silver Brumby tells of the adventures of the magnificent silver colt Thowra, son of the mighty Yarraman and destined to become king of all the wild horses. The intelligent, courageous Thowra, his brothers Storm and Arrow, and their friends the bush animals including Benni the wise kangaroo, are the enemies of the Mountain Men. The men want to capture the wild horses and take away their freedom. Each episode is a self-contained story of adventure, friendship and daring, set against the majesty of the Australian High Country. Based on the book "The Silver Brumby" by Elyne Mitchell.

CHARACTERS

Thowra

Son of the mighty Yarraman and destined to become king of all the wild horses. Creamy with a silver mane and tail - hence the name "The Silver Brumby". A noble colt, intelligent and courageous.

Storm

Half brother and lifelong friend of Thowra. Kind, brave and agile. Always reliable and trustworthy.

Arrow

Older half brother of Thowra. Strong and tall, with a streak of meanness and stupidity.
Thinks he should be the leader of the herd because he is the oldest.

The Brolga

Since defeating Thowra's father in a battle some years ago, The Brolga is the current king of the wild horses. Dominant by nature, he is possessive, ambitious and lethal in battle. He is intensely jealous of the handsome young Thowra.

Boon Boon

The brave daughter of The Brolga. As curious and eager to learn the wisdom of the bush as Thowra, she becomes his true and valued friend.

Benni

The wise old kangaroo who guides and advises the young, inexperienced Thowra as he grows to maturity.

The Man

A High Country loner; intense, single minded, and determined in his pursuit of the unforgettable wild silver colt.

Mopoke

The wise yet mischievous owl who speaks in rhymes and enjoys reminding Arrow and others of their shortcomings. Mopoke always gives advice, whether it's called for or not.

Currawong

The High Country's native Crow, who is The Brolga's spy. A scheming and conniving bird who thrives on creating trouble.

Wombat

A grumpy, nocturnal marsupial who lives underground. He becomes a reluctant ally of Thowra's when help is needed.

Eee & Mu

The scatter-brained pair of bush gossips who love nothing better than to poke their beaks into other creatures' business.
